Regina “Gigi” Hodges

Gigi is an award-winning playwright and native of Daytona Beach, Fl graduating from Mainland Sr. High School in 1974. She joined the United States Coast Guard after high school being one of 2 African-American females to ever be enlisted from the state at that time!

Gigi’s professional acting career began in the mid 80’s when her love for the arts was kindled and her passion for theater was awakened when she met director Thomas Gray with The Joe Jefferson Players performing in “Spoon River Anthology” and “The Grass Harp” in Mobile, Alabama. Since relocating to Miami in 2007, she has had the opportunity to work with several local playwrights with her most iconic performance being the portrayal of Harriett Tubman in The Escape: The Underground Railroad, produced by the legendary Raymond Young and Dedication Dance Academy.

 In 2012, Gigi crossed over into television/film working with Robert Townsend and several local filmmakers in the Miami area including local filmmaker Aaron Johnson appearing in his feature film “Lost” which was accepted and screened in 2018 at The London International Film Festival where she had the honor of attending!

 Since that time, she’s worked on several film/commercial projects and is an accomplished playwright, producer, director, coach, actress and singer. Gigi has been performing for over 25 years having several television commercials, numerous stage productions as well as several films and notably winning “Best Stage play” for her production of “A Christmas To Remember” on the streaming network, The OnPoint Network!

 Mrs. Hodges has been blessed to share the stage with such icons as Dorien Wilson (Professor Stanley Oglevee), Dave Tolliver (Men At Large), Terrell Carter (Tyler Perry, Empire and many more). This past summer, she was afforded the opportunity to film with the amazing Fred Hammond and Terrell Carter and most recently, Romeo Miller!

 In 2013, she and husband Lamar, formed their company, D&R Productions which has since been renamed Hodges & Hodges Productions, and to her credit, she has written and produced 5 theatrical productions performed in the Miami area as well as her hometown of Daytona Beach. Gigi Hodges has now added the title of filmmaker to her accolades as she is one of the Executive Producers, co-writer, director, casting director, coach and actress in her first short film entitled, NoLonger Bound.

In addition to the above, she is proud to add to her accolades the title of author as she has penned her first book entitled, Hello. Mom? It’s Gigi-A Daughters Quest for Truth which was released December 24th, 2022!

 Gigi and Lamar currently reside in the city of Sunrise, Florida and are the parents of 6 and the grandparents of several! Gigi’s love for the arts is ministry and her motto is, “if I can touch and change one person’s life through the Ministry of Drama, then my mission has been accomplished”.
